Playa de los Genoveses (Almeria)

E’ una delle spiagge più note della costa di Almeria, secondo me la più bella in assoluto.

Si trova nel Parco Naturale di Cabo de Gata-Nijar a 3 chilometri da San José. Poco più avanti c’è l’altra splendida spiaggia di Monsul.

Questa zona, tuttora immersa in una natura incontaminata, è ricca di location che hanno ospitato moltissimi film.

Generalmente il mare e le spiagge non sono molto presenti nei film western. Ma la Playa de los Genoveses è una delle location principali di La Texana e i Fratelli Penitenza (noto anche come Kannie Caulder), film del 1971 diretto da Burt Kennedy. Per questo film fu costruito anche un set proprio sulla spiaggia, di cui non non si trova più alcuna traccia.

E infine una vera chicca: in una breve sequenza del film appare Paco de Lucia, uno dei più grandi chitarristi della storia, che suona solitario sulla spiaggia.

It is one of the most famous beaches on the Almeria coast, in my opinion the most beautiful of all.

It is located in the Cabo de Gata-Nijar Natural Park 3 kilometers from San José. A little further on is the other splendid beach of Monsul.

This area, still immersed in uncontaminated nature, is full of locations that have hosted many films.

Generally the sea and beaches are not very present in western films. But the Playa de los Genoveses is one of the main locations of La Texana and the Brothers Penitence (also known as Kannie Caulder), a 1971 film directed by Burt Kennedy. For this film, a set was also built on the beach, of which no trace can be found anymore.

And finally a real gem: in a short sequence of the film Paco de Lucia appears, one of the greatest guitarists in history, playing alone on the beach.
