La Bateria de San Ramon è una fortezza rinascimentale costruita nel 1764. E’ una delle nove fortezze fatte costruire dal re Carlo III per difendere la costa compresa tra Malaga e Almeria dagli attacchi dei pirati berberi.
La fortezza, che sorge accanto alla bella spiaggia detta El Playazo, è oggi completamente ristrutturata.

The Bateria de San Ramon is a Renaissance fortress built in 1764. It is one of the nine fortresses built by king Carlo III to defend the coast between Malaga and Almeria from attacks by Berber pirates.
The fortress, which stands next to the beautiful beach called El Playazo, is now completely renovated.
